Rocket Launch

There are several times during the year where all of the Acton-Boxborough Cub Scout Packs come together for a joint event. One of the most eagerly anticipated is the Rocket Launch! Scouts and their families build rockets from Estes kits and bring them to School Street Field for launch day. Engines loaded … rockets transported to launch pads … firing mechanism armed … 3 … 2 … 1 … Launch! With a great wooosh our rockets soar out of sight, reaching altitudes of 300 feet or more. Though this year was a little different as we had to launch in separate smaller groups, it was a tremendously successful multi-Pack event!
