Assistant Cub Master

The Assistant Cub Master provides support to the Cub Master. They often play a key role in organizing the monthly pack adventures, such as our campouts, hikes, and other activities.  Effort averages less than 5 hours per month.

Pack Committee Roles

The Pack Committee has oversight over all decisions made by the pack.  The Cub Master reports to the Pack Committee.  The Pack Committee in turn reports to the Charter Organization.

Committee Chair

The Pack Committee Chair keeps the business side of a cub scout pack organized.  They lead the quarterly pack committee meetings, help to make sure other volunteer roles are filled, and assist with the annual rechartering of the pack.  Effort averages around 5 hours per month; however, the fall may be a little busier.

Pack Treasurer

As the Pack Treasurer, you keep our books and make sure that we are not spending more than we can afford.  You will own the pack checkbook and will write checks as needed.  The Pack Treasurer also assists with the collecting of dues.  Effort averages less than 5 hours per month.

Advancement Chair

As the Advancement Chair, you are responsible for making sure our children receive their awards in a timely manner.  Scoutbook is where all the tracking happens.  You will make sure those awards are processed, picked up, and delivered to the leaders.  All awards can be picked up at the store in Lancaster.  Effort averages less than 5 hours per month.

Pack Secretary

The Pack Secretary keeps meeting minutes and distributes them to the pack, so that pack families have visibility in the overall running of the pack.  Effort averages less than 5 hours per month.

Other Roles (multiple openings for each)

Popcorn

The annual Popcorn Fundraiser is a critical role for the pack.  It provides over 50% of our pack funding and also helps to run our council programs as well; including the summer camps, fall and spring cub-o-rees, and other great activities.  You will help organize this fundraiser.  Effort averages 5 hours per month during Popcorn Season (August – October).  There may be an odd hour here or there other times of the year.

Rocket Launch

Help make sure our Cubs can get to the moon (figuratively).  The Rocket Launch is a joint pack activity between the 4 A/B packs and is held mid-November.  Preparations start late September and continue until launch day.  Most of the effort is on launch day.

Blue and Gold Banquet

The Blue and Gold Banquet is our annual celebration of Cub Scouting.  Going forward, this will be held in February, the Birthday of Scouting.  The BG Committee plans the banquet including food, entertainment, and anything else to make for a successful and enjoyable evening.

Minuteperson

You are able to help out at a moment’s notice with those last minute needs. Pitch in as a ref at our kickball game. Buy s’mores making supplies for our next campout. Lead an activity station at the next pack meeting.
